Face Lift

In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jaw line slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. A facelift counteracts these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, more youthful look. Dr. Lee stresses a naturally, younger look with incisions made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears. Dr. Lee can combine a facelift with other procedures such as a brow lift, blepharoplasty or eyelid lift, or cheek or chin augmentation. See our Animated Procedures for more details.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, a well-done rhinoplasty is a masterpiece of artistry. Dr. Lee will discuss your goals: "Do you want to reduce or augment your nose? Do you want to remove a hump? Do you want to narrow your nostrils? Are you having difficulty breathing?" Dr. Lee will listen to you and work with you to create that perfect nose. Asian Blepharoplasty (Double Eyelid Surgery)

Cosmetic eyelid surgery is the most common elective procedure among Asians. The procedure can thin a full eyelid, alter the shape or height of the upper eyelid, decrease a pronounced epicanthal fold (the flap of tissue on the nasal side of the eyelid), or create a double eyelid. Dr. Lee trained with Dr. Flowers (Honolulu, HI), specializing in Asian aesthetic surgery and other facial cosmetic procedures. Dr. Lee stresses a natural-looking, beautiful eyelid. The procedure lasts 1 to 2 hours and can be done under local anesthetic or sedation.

Skin Care

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. Dr. Lee will provide a detailed facial analysis to help you understand the benefits and limitations of BOTOX. It can be injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX relaxes wrinkles and gives the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms. JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel

Juvéderm is an injectable gel that gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow's feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also "plump up" the lips, sculpt the cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face. It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin. Dr. Lee often combines Juvéderm with BOTOX® to give a more balanced, youthful luster to the skin. Results last about 6-9 months. Fat Transfer

Autologous fat transfer involves the removal and relocation of the patient's own body fat to plump up an area that has lost volume after injury, aging or another cause. Dr. Lee removes fat from an undesirable location such as the belly or thighs and places the fat in more aesthetically appealing areas such as the cheeks or the face. The fat can help to smooth wrinkles and facial contours, may help the overlying skin appear younger, and there is no risk of allergic reaction because the transplanted fat comes from you, the patient. Other advantages of autologous fat transfer include a short recovery time, long-lasting results and effectiveness on any skin type. The length of the procedure varies depending on the number of areas to be treated.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion removes a layer of surface skin to improve the appearance of facial scarring due to acne, chicken pox, injury or other causes, as well as uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, sun damage, tattoos, age spots and certain kinds of skin lesions. The skin is frozen, typically with a spray, and then abraded with a high-speed rotary instrument for a dramatically smoother, fresher look. After the procedure it is normal to feel a sensation similar to sunburn for a week or so, at which time most patients are able to return to work. The newly revealed skin will likely appear pinker than usual for two to three months. Patients should be sure to adequately protect skin from sunlight.
