Breast Procedures

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the U.S. Augmentation can give women a fuller, firmer, better-proportioned look. Women may elect to undergo breast augmentation for many different medical or aesthetic motivations, including balancing breast size and compensating for reduced breast mass after pregnancy or surgery. Dr. Lee has a keen eye for detail and symmetry. Together, you will find the right size and type of implant. Implants are silicone shells filled with either saline (salt water) or silicone gel (recently approved by the FDA). Both saline and silicone are safe. Dr. Lee will show you the different types of implants and the different techniques for augmentation. The implants can be placed either under the breast tissue or the chest wall muscle through one of four different approaches – periareolar, inframammary, axillary, or umbilical. Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction restores a natural, symmetrical appearance to the bosom, maintains body proportion, allows clothes to fit better, and most importantly, boosts self-confidence for women who have lost one or both breasts to mastectomy or developmental abnormality. Dr. Lee strives to create a new breast and nipple that resemble a woman's natural breast as closely as possible in shape, size and position. Options for breast reconstruction include implants or your own natural tissues including the most advanced reconstructive options such as perforator flaps (DIEP). Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is performed to return youthful shape and lift to breasts that have sagged as a result of weight loss, pregnancy, loss of the skin’s natural elasticity or simply the effects of aging and gravity. The procedure can also reduce areola size (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), and it can be combined with breast reduction or augmentation. Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Gynecomastia or enlarged male breasts affect nearly 40-60% of men, often with no known cause. This condition can be embarrassing as well as physically uncomfortable. Dr. Lee will discuss your options for removal, which may include liposuction, a small incision just around the areola, or a larger incision if needed. Dr. Lee will remove fat, glandular tissue from the breasts, and in some cases excess skin. The result is a flatter, firmer chest. See our Animated Procedures for more details.

Breast Reduction

Large breasts can cause pain, improper posture, rashes, breathing problems, skeletal deformities, and low self-esteem. Breast reduction surgery is usually done to provide relief from these symptoms. Performed under general anesthesia, the two- to four-hour procedure removes fat and glandular tissue and tightens skin to produce smaller, lighter breasts that are in a healthier proportion to the rest of the body. Body Procedures

Body Contouring - Post Bariatric

Body contouring surgery after weight loss is one of the fastest growing fields of plastic surgery. After massive weight loss, certain areas of your body may sag and appear deflated. These changes may be embarrassing or cumbersome. Dr. Lee can be improve these areas, such as the face, neck, arms, breast, abdomen, buttocks and thighs, through procedures that will lift and sculpt your new and improved body. Known as a body lift when combined together, you can pick and choose which procedures you would like to help achieve the look you desire. Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Abdominoplasty helps to flatten and to shape the stomach and waist by removing excess fat and skin and tightening muscles. The procedure is also useful for women with stretched skin, stretch marks, or a “pooch” left over from pregnancy

The procedure takes approximately two to five hours and is usually performed with general anesthesia. Recovery time ranges from two to four weeks. With a balanced diet and regular exercise, results are long lasting. There are multiple abdominoplasties including lipoabdominoplasty, the mini-abdominoplasty, traditional abdominoplasty, extended abdominoplasty, and a circumferential abdominoplasty. Liposuction

The most popular cosmetic surgery procedure in the U.S., liposuction sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat that has not responded to diet and exercise from areas such as the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, chin, cheeks, neck and upper arms. Local anesthesia or general anesthesia may be used, and the procedure can last anywhere from one to five hours depending on the amount of fat being removed.

There are several methods surgeons use when performing liposuction, including ultrasound-assisted lipectomy (UAL), power-assisted lipectomy (PAL) and suction-assisted lipectomy (SAL). In all methods, fluid is injected into the area to be treated. Then a tiny incision is made as inconspicuously as possible, and a cannula (small tube) breaks up the fat layer and suctions it out of the body. Dr. Lee is skilled in all 3 types of liposuction. Dr. Lee will perform an in depth analysis of your anatomy and aesthetic goals. Liposuction can be combined with any number of procedures to create a more refined aesthetic result.
